Auto & Car accidents
In an instant, a motor vehicle collision can dramatically change your life. Serious car accidents can result in lasting, sometimes permanent injury, disability, and death. Even somewhat minor crashes can create devastating financial pressures, such as an inability to earn income or staggering bills for medical treatment and hospitalization. At the same time, insurance companies often prey on car accident victims – doing everything in their power to avoid paying claims at a time when policyholders need them most.
While the aftermath of an accident may seem needlessly complicated and full of unanswered questions, you don’t have to face it alone. At Shimonov Law Group, we are here to ease your burden and be the strength by your side.

Wrongful Death
A wrongful death — one that was caused by someone else’s negligence or misconduct — is especially hard for the families who must carry on. Losing a loved one results in more than just the emotional impact; families must also contend with loss of income, loss of support, and costs related to the death.
If you are considering legal action related to wrongful death, the experienced New York wrongful death attorneys at Shimonov Law Group can help you navigate the legal system and get the best results during a difficult time. We also handle cases of wrongful death in New York City and across the Tri-State area.
Slip and Falls
Slip and fall incidents are a primary cause of injury and death in the United States, and they frequently occur in public settings such as supermarkets and parking lots. Property owners must keep their premises secure and can be held accountable for injuries that occur on their property. Slip and fall incidents can result in catastrophic injuries such as fractured bones, concussions, and spinal cord injuries.
If you slip/trip and fall and are injured because of a condition on property, you will have to show the owner of the property was negligent in dealing with the condition—that is, that the owner knew or should have known about the dangerous condition on the property and failed to clean it (or if it was cleaned, it was cleaned in a way that did not fix it or made the condition worse), fix it, rope it off, or warn of the condition.
EXAMPLES:
In each of the following, if the property owner had notice of the condition and failed to do anything about it (or took action but did so in a way that failed to adequately address the condition), the injured person may be able to recover for slip/trip and fall.
Note that in any of the listed cases, if the property owner does not have notice of a dangerous condition or could not have known about the condition, it can be difficult to prove negligence in failing to address the condition. And in a snow and ice situation, if snow is falling or has just finished falling when a person slips and falls, it is very difficult to claim negligence.

- You are walking on a walkway after a snowstorm. The walkway appears to have been cleared of ice and snow; there is no warning that the surface is icy. You decide it is safe to walk on the sidewalk, but as you progress, the walkway becomes patchy with ice and you fall, injuring yourself. The municipality may be liable because it undertook to clean the surface, which was an invitation to walk on it, but did a poor job. This created a dangerous condition for pedestrians.)
- You are in an office building, and the floor has just been mopped with a cleaning solution that makes the floor slippery. There is neither a warning sign, a rope around the slippery area or a carpet to help people avoid that slippery area. You slip, fall and injure yourself.
- You are in the grocery store produce aisle and some bananas have fallen to the ground. Others have walked on them, smashing them and creating an invisible, slick area. Although the store employs people to police aisles for spills, on this day nobody has done the job. You slip on the banana slick and injure yourself.
- You are in a store, and there is water on the floor. The owner knows or should know about the water and has done nothing to clean it. You walk on the water and fall, injuring yourself.
Medical Malpractice
A common sort of personal injury is medical negligence. It happens when a doctor or other health care worker injures a patient. Medical malpractice can occur during surgery, delivery, sickness treatment, or any other medical process, and it can be deliberate or accidental. You or your lawyer must acquire all of your medical records for all dates of treatment for an unbiased expert to assess your case.
Workplace Accidents
Workers’ compensation, is a form of insurance that pays out cash benefits to employees injured or who become ill.
If you are involved in a workplace accident, we will notify your employer, make sure you gather proof and seek medical attention. It is critical we follow up with your employer, insurance company, and medical provider to verify that your claim is being handled and that you are receiving the benefits to which you are entitled.

Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrian accidents involve people and motor vehicles, often caused by driver carelessness, inattentive driving, or poor road conditions. These collisions can result in serious injuries or fatalities, such as fractures, brain injuries, and internal damage. Seeking medical assistance, reporting the accident, and obtaining a police record is crucial for documentation and establishing guilt. Compensation may be available for losses if injured due to someone else’s carelessness.
Dog Attacks & bites
Dog bites can result in severe trauma and bodily harm. Some of the most frequent injuries caused by a dog bite are:
- Skin wounds that can require stitches or grafts- Puncture wounds that penetrate deep into muscle tissue- Contusions (bruises) produced by burst blood vessels in the affected region- Nerve injury resulting in loss of feeling (numbness)
